With a musical career spanning some 35 years, Gary DiSalle is recognized as one of Northern Ontario’s premier electric guitarists. As a performer, Gary is well known for his versatility on the instrument, having worked in a variety of genres including rock, blues, jazz, R&B, folk, pop and country. He has appeared on literally hundreds of recordings and has worked with a host of internationally renowned artists, such as The “Legendary” James Cotton, Colin Linden, Michelle Wright, The Destino Tenors, Bobby Vinton, Freddy Fender, Valdy, Kevin Closs, Maurizio Montecenos, Sarah Craig and Robert Paquette to name just a few.

Gary holds Bachelors Degrees in Music and in Education from Laurentian and Nipissing Universities, and has taught music for both the York Region and Rainbow District School Boards. Gary is also a founder and co-director of Guitars Alive; a non-profit partnership of Sudbury guitar teachers dedicated to promoting quality guitar education in the districts’ elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools.

In addition to his teaching commitments, Gary is very much in demand as a guitar clinician, and is a member of the panel of adjudicators for NOMF, (Northern Ontario Music Festival). He is also a member of the national board of jury panelists for FACTOR, (Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent On Recordings ).

Gary maintains a busy performance schedule as a member of the renowned Guitars Alive Trio (with Philip Candelaria & Paul Dunn) He also works regularly with the eclectic jazz combo Broche a Foin, and with the popular classic rock band Frontline. Gary also continues to tour extensively throughout Canada and the U.S. as lead guitarist and vocalist for the phenomenally successful Eagles tribute Hotel California.
